Igokea fired coach Bajić

Igokea surprisingly decided to fire coach Dragan Bajić just before the beginning of the game against Szolnoki Olaj.

The main reason for firing Bajić was still not revealed by the club but the team was already coached by his former assistant Milutin Lastinić against Szolnoki Olaj. Bajić led Igokea to the ABA League Final Four Tournament in 2012/13 season, when the team finished the regular season as the leading one among 14 clubs. In the most successful season in the history of the club Igokea also won the National Championship of  BiH and the National Cup. Lately Bajić was mentioned as one of candidates for taking over the national team of BiH.

This autumn Igokea had a slower start into the season and won four out of seven games played until this Saturday in ABA League while in Eurocup it has 1-4.

Dragan Bajić nije više trener košarkaša Igokee. Uprava kluba uručila je otkaz Bajiću u subotu pred meč ABA lige sa Solnokom, te će Igokeu protiv mađarskog predstavnika voditi njegov pomoćnik Milutin Latinčić. Bajić je sa Igokeom prošle sezone došao do najvećeg uspeha u istoriji kluba. Osvojen je šampionat Bosne i Hercegovine, kao i kup Bosne i Hercegovine i Republike Srpske. U regularnom delu ABA lige Igokea je bila najbolja ekipa. Poslednjih dana ime Dragana Bajića pominjalo se u kontekstu novog selektora reprezentacije Bosne i Hercegovine.

    Tajfun is the new champion of Slovenian league. In a decisive fourth game of the finals, they have beaten Rogaška in Šentjur 67:65 and edged out the opponent with the score 3:1 in victories. Dragiša Drobnjak became the MVP of the finals.

    Szolnoki Olaj have swept the final series against KTE-Duna Aszfalt from Kecskemet with three victories in a row and have claimed the second domestic championship trophy in a row – sixth in the entire club's history.

    Serbia national team head coach Aleksandar Đorđević has presented his preliminary squad for EuroBasket 2015. No less than 11 ABA League players found their spot on the list.

  • Cibona beat Zadar, MZT in finals

    MZT Skopje Aerodrom qualified for the finals in Macedonian Championship after sweeping the series against Feni Industri. In the finals they will meet Kumanovo. In the first game of the „ABA League semis“ in Croatia, Cibona was better at home court than Zadar. In Slovenia, the finals are tied.

    Szolnoki Olaj is seriously approaching their new domestic championship trophy. In the second game of Hungarian national championship finals, they were better than KTE-Duna Aszfalt in Kecskemet and are now 2:0 up in the hunt for the trophy.

    MZT Skopje Aerodrom started the playoffs in Macedonian Championship victorious, by overcoming Feni Industries in the first semi-final game at home. In Slovenian Championship finals, Rogaška took a 1:0 lead over Tajfun.

  • Step one for Szolnoki Olaj

    Szolnoki Olaj took the lead in the finals od domestic championship by overcoming KTE-Duna Aszfalt convincingly in Tiszaliget sports hall in the first game. David Vojvoda was again the key man.

  • Igokea advanced to the finals in BiH

    Igokea is the first finalist of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national championship, after overcoming an obstacle called Sloboda in the second game of the semi-final series too. In Tuzla, Brady Heslip scored 27 points and Igokea won 97:75.
